Comprehensive Lab Testing

Have you ever had a doctor run your labs and tell you “everything looks fine” while you still feel unwell? This may be because they are only looking at basic labs and not doing a thorough detailed lab assessment. At Archetype Health & Wellness we utilize comprehensive detailed lab testing to evaluate the health of an individual. Beyond monitoring for certain diseases, we aim to optimize your health by utilizing lab testing levels that go beyond “okay” or “average”. We educate our patients on every lab test needed and explain results in a thorough, detailed, and easily understood manner.

Depending on your specific needs and circumstances, comprehensive lab testing may involve a single test or a series of tests. It is an important tool we use to help identify and diagnose various health conditions and to develop an appropriate treatment plan for you.

Common types of tests that may be included in your lab testing panel include:

  1. Blood tests: By measuring the levels of various substances in the blood, such as hormones, proteins, and antibodies, blood tests can help diagnose a wide range of conditions, including hormonal imbalances, infections, anemia, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and more.

  2. Urine tests: Detecting the presence of substances in the urine, such as protein, sugar, or bacteria, urine tests can indicate the presence of certain diseases or conditions. It can also tell us information about environmental toxin levels, including mycotoxins, heavy metals, pesticides, and plastics.

  3. Stool tests: These tests detect the presence of blood, bacteria, or parasites in our stool. Stool tests can also give us a deeper view of your gut health by measuring the levels of beneficial and harmful bacteria living in the gastrointestinal tract. Imbalances in the gut flora may lead to gastrointestinal symptoms, skin conditions, autoimmune disorders, immune system imbalances, and inflammatory disorders.

  4. Saliva tests: Saliva testing is a non-invasive collection method to measure hormones like cortisol, estrogens, progesterone, and androgens. Saliva testing measures the amount of hormone available to target tissues - the bioavailable or ‘useful’ amount.

  5. Imaging tests: These tests, such as x-rays, CT scans, and MRIs, use specialized equipment to create detailed images of the body's internal structures and help to diagnose certain conditions and monitor treatment progress.

  6. Genetic tests: Examining an individual's DNA helps identify genetic variations that may increase the risk of certain diseases or conditions. We may interpret genetic testing utilizing your 23&Me results or can order more comprehensive genetic testing.
